I imaged today on the way to work that our world was destroyed, thrust into the future, and then thousands of years later they discovered the internet, not all of it, but rooms of backup servers and terabytes of storage. They found, the New York Times archive, and 4-chan, they discovered 3 millions blogs, about everything from making your own cola to noka chocolate
What would they think of us?

This might be a little off topic, but last night I had a dream about john and Arin... just them in their usual troubles.
How long do you suppose our buildings will last? In five thousand years, if the earth is still here at all; what will be left? What can truly survive the rough movements of time?
Oddly topical. We were just talking about you the other day. How you were talking about how once someone writes something down and someone quotes it, it becomes fact. We're finally getting to reading Fast Food Nation and it's full of that crap. Somewhere in it, there's probably real fact, but most of it seems to be quoted quotes. Would the future see the NYT as fact?
(Surprised to find me here? ;-) The toys march on. Everyone says hi. I don't think anyone else knows the address of this blog, and I only looked because we were thinking of you yesterday.)
